I went away for a while because nobody was answering my threads and I didn’t want to be a pest. Figured I’d just take a break from DW and see how things went from there.
Nearly two weeks later, still nothing.
Did I offend somebody or something?

With Gypsy over so soon, it’s time to prepare for the round of auditions.
I hear they’re doing a production of Carousel next…
“Hard to pick out a specific moment,” she answered, head still on his shoulder. “More like a gradual process, really.”
[ Jack was half shocked half pleased. Now there was only one thing to ask]
So what do we do about it?
“Good question,” she answered with a dry laugh. “You tell me. You’ve been immortal longer than I have.”

Alexa closed the distance between them and put a hand on his arm. “Jack, you exist.” She put her arms around him and leaned her head on his shoulder. “I believe that, I really do. You look like a dead man and that makes it hard sometimes. But you’re not him, not at all. I don’t know you yet, but I want to. You seem like someone I would like to know.” She sighed. “If you see something in my eyes, it’s not what you think. It’s just good, old-fashioned guilt.”
[Jack’s eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her with confusion] Guilt about what? you’ve done nothing wrong!
“Guilt for what happened before, not being able to save him,” she answered. “Guilt over falling for you so fast, as if I’m horrible for finding someone else to care about this soon.”
You’ve… fallen for me? [Jack’s eyes widened. Well, Harkness, here you are.] When was this?

She moved further into the kitchen, very obviously unconvinced. “Jack, what’s wrong?”
[He let’s out a deep sigh] You look at me with old eyes, eyes that say “I know you” but they don’t. Eyes that look like you’re staring into a dead man. Here I am trying to woo you over subtly and then you look at me like you don’t believe I exist…

She shook her head slowly. “No, that’s OK.” She looked down at the popcorn bowl- empty.
Oh! It’s empty, let me go make more! [He grabbed the bowl and ran into the kitchen hitting the keys and popping the popcorn, he didn’t even bother to stop the movie.]
She paused it for him and followed him into the kitchen. “Jack, are you OK?”
[He feigned a smile] Course I am. Why wouldn’t I be?
